Our smoothest, quietest braid. Eight tightly woven strands give X8 a round profile that casts farther, runs quieter through the guides and holds knots better than 4-strand braid. 15 colors, 10โ300 lb test, spools from 150 to 3,000 yards.
- โ Longer, smoother casts โ round, tight weave means less friction through the guides
- โ Quiet retrieves โ no "zipper" noise like 4-strand
- โ Thin for its strength โ 20 lb is just .20 mm (see the size chart below)
- โ Zero stretch, high sensitivity โ feel light bites and bottom contact, get faster hooksets
- โ Low memory, abrasion resistant โ lays flat on the spool and stands up to rocks and cover
- โ Freshwater and saltwater โ from finesse bass to offshore jigging

๐ก 4-Strand vs. 8-Strand
4-strand braid is tough, abrasion resistant and a great everyday line. 8-strand is the upgrade: rounder, smoother and quieter, with longer casts and cleaner knots. If you fish often or fish tournaments, you'll feel the difference in the first few casts.
๐ชข Rigging Tips
- Knot: we suggest a Palomar knot for tying braid directly to hooks and lures.
- Clear water or line-shy fish: add a fluorocarbon leader.
- Cutting: braid is tough on regular clippers. Braid shears make clean cuts.
